To the North Carolina Congressional Delegation:
Far too many North Carolinians are injured or die from gun violence each year.
- In 2014 in NC, there were 1204 firearms-related deaths and 47 children died as the result from a firearm.
- North Carolina’s gun murder rate is 10% higher than the national average.
- Over 30,000 Americans die from gun violence every year.
The time for inaction has passed.
Therefore, I stand in solidarity with those standing up to the gun lobby, and call on those in Congress to take action on gun violence prevention.
