Ordinance Keeping Guns off Playgrounds Passes in More Cities
NCGV's campaign to keep loaded, hidden guns out of city recreational facilities is off to a great start. More than ten cities have already passed ordinances to prohibit concealed firearms in city playgrounds, swimming pools, and athletic fields. Last week before the Thanksgiving holiday three more cities joined their ranks: Garner, Winston-Salem and Asheville.
These common sense ordinances help undo the most critical and dangerous pieces of recently passed House Bill 650 but we need your help to make it happen. It is critical that we stop guns from entering public playgrounds and athletic facilities - our state’s children are our top priority. A playground is no place for a firearm.
We are asking our supporters to donate $10 to allow us to continue to pass this ordinance throughout the state. Please consider supporting our efforts to keep our playgrounds and athletic safe from gun violence: http://bit.ly/nc-playgrounds
